Introduction

Welcome, I’m Dr. Michelle Shaw. I have my Doctorate of Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas and California. My goal is to help individuals and families learn how to build healthier relationships through positive communication and behavioral interventions. My work focuses on challenging negative self talk and ineffective behaviors. I believe in working collaboratively to help patients build on their personal strengths and find their path to meaningful relationships and happiness. I have worked as a Program Director for a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program prior to transitioning to private practice work, which expanded my expertise in crisis management for adults and adolescents. I’m a certified Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Therapist which promotes parenting techniques that consider the child’s temperament, reinforces rewards and consequences, and implements strategies to foster a positive parent-child relationship. I have also completed extensive formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support patients in creating meaningful change towards their life goals through behavioral interventions. If you’re interested in learning more about working with me, please send an appointment request and I will be happy to reach out to you to discuss your situation and explore how I might be able to help you.
