Whether you are considering therapy for the first time, returning to address new challenges, or looking for a change, I commend you. Advocating for yourself and prioritizing wellness takes strength and courage. Regardless of where you are in your life’s story and how you are feeling in this moment, therapy provides the tools necessary to find clarity and transform. I utilize a variety of evidence based therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work with individuals ages 14 and up to address general mental health concerns, with a special focus on culturally diverse populations and boys/men. In my experience, I have helped individuals tackle issues of masculinity, cultural identity, dual-culture relationships, while helping to rediscover their values and purpose in life. It is my passion to help individuals gain an understanding and acceptance of themselves, using a culturally sensitive therapeutic approach. My background as a second-generation Jordanian and Palestinian immigrant enriches my therapeutic approach. It provides me with a deep understanding of the cultural nuances, familial dynamics, and the intersection of identity that individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds may experience. This cultural insight allows me to create a safe and empathetic space where clients feel truly understood, fostering a more effective therapeutic relationship. Embracing diversity and appreciating the richness of each individual's story is at the core of my practice at Authentic Life Counseling and what I expect individuals to feel in each session.
