Introduction

I believe each of us can live a more fulfilling life by understanding the relationship between what we think, feel, and do in order to help us identify helpful and unhelpful ways of being. By letting go of what hinders us from reaching our goals, we can make intentional decisions and commit to attitudes that align with our values and goals. When we are faced with life hardships and challenges and feel stuck; intentional living reminds us that we have power over how we respond to situations out of our control. It’s about being aware of who we are and what we want. Conscious living can connect us to a deeper, more purposeful part of ourselves. When we live intentionally, we decide what matters to us and we set the direction of our own lives. My work focuses on collaborating with individuals and families to determine what mindful actions they can take to improve their well-being. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 20 years of counseling experience working with diverse clients from all age groups. I have extensive work experience with adolescents and families which includes working with individuals struggling with: self-confidence, stress, burn-out, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship issues. I have also worked with survivors of domestic, sexual and child abuse. My approach to therapy is collaborative and personalizes the unique needs of the individual and/or the family. I have a strong belief in positive psychology which focuses on character strengths and behaviors that allow individuals to build a life of meaning and purpose - to move beyond surviving to flourishing. I believe change occurs when individuals and/or families are provided support to build new skills and attain new perspectives to gain life satisfaction. I believe mental and physical health are fundamentally linked. My work also focuses on promoting healthy lifestyle choices to improve both emotional and physical health. I use various therapeutic approaches in my work listed below. I primarily draw upon Mindfulness Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Client/Person Therapy.
