There are many reasons people seek counseling. Regardless of the reason, it is a brave and vulnerable step to take and I’m glad you’re here. I work with adolescents and adults (15+) on many different issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. I have done a lot of work with college students and emerging adults, and I enjoy helping people identify their strengths and use them to get the results they desire. My role is to assist you in reaching whatever goals you may have for yourself by providing safe and non-judgmental support, and helping you to exercise your own strengths, rather than to give you advice. My approach to counseling is a strengths-based integration of person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapies. This integrative approach strives to achieve a safe, authentic, and empathic relationship. I also incorporate mindfulness into my work. Mindfulness is an evidence-based way to help alleviate many symptoms and self-limiting thoughts/behaviors.
