I am a native Charlottean whose family has lived in and around Charlotte for generations. I am also a wife and mother to three challenging and amazingly wonderful children. While I often doubt my abilities to manage the logistics of afterschool activities, following up with homework, getting food on the table, mounds of laundry and all the things that complicate the day to day, I have always found solace in working with and supporting others. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have over 25 years of experience working in the mental health field with children and families through services including multi systemic therapy, parent education and coaching, individual therapy, and school intervention and consultation. My focus is on building a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment in which individuals, children, adolescents and caregivers can identify, move towards and achieve their goals. When working with children, my hope is to support their academic, social, emotional and behavioral growth while working alongside parents to strengthen understanding, communication, and family relationships. I strive to understand and capitalize on an individual or family’s strengths to further their overall well-being, growth and success. I utilize a positive, strength-based, and skills-focused approach with evidence-based practices.
