As a therapist and an artist, I strongly believe in the healing and clarity that come through creative self-expression. This belief, developed during my time teaching and studying art, is the cornerstone of my therapeutic practice. I believe the process of connecting with and expressing our truest selves, within the safe and accepting space of therapy, is what lights the path towards growth, insight, and change. Through my formal education, extensive training in different therapeutic modalities, and experience working across multiple mental health settings, my approach to nurturing creative self-expression has broadened to include play, narrative work, and relational work, in addition to art. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art and Education from UC Davis and a Master of Social Work degree from Sacramento State, and am I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I was born in the Bay Area but Sacramento is my home. On my own time, I am often engaged in my own preferred methods of self-expression - working in my garden, spending time with friends and family, taking my dog for walks, and creating my own art. I enjoy a variety of mediums including paint, collage, fabric, and, of course, clay. For more information about my experience and areas of expertise, please reach out to schedule a free consultation. I can’t wait to see what we can create together.
