I have worked with many different diagnoses throughout my career and training. Most of the client's I have worked with have come in with issues compounded by different traumas. Usually what a person walks in the door with is a symptom of deeper difficulties. I like to help my clients not only resolve their presenting problem, but also more deeply rooted patterns and behaviors. Because of my philosophy about the value of deeper psychological work, I work from a Psychodynamic, Object Relations and/or Transference-Focused perspective. I also use Attachment Theory. I have been trained in many other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and borrow from those when the treatment calls for it. I have some wonderful clinical staff that also practice from similar treatment philosophies as I do. We are all trauma therapists with insight-oriented training. Some of my staff see couples, teens and are also EMDR certified or have other specific training and skill sets.
