Introduction

At the heart of On Living is a desire to help you live in a way that feels more authentic, meaningful, and joyful. I do not believe there is a one-size-fits-all formula to well-being—each person’s path to a fulfilling life is unique. The word psychotherapy comes from the Ancient Greek terms 'psyche' (meaning soul or mind) and 'therapeia' (meaning healing), together meaning 'healing of the mind or soul.' It is often understood as "attending to the inner self." As your therapist, I will listen closely and without judgment to your inner world. I will be present with you as you explore and process your experiences. Through this deep attention, I hope to help you connect with parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or suppressed, cultivating a sense of compassion for them. Healing is not a linear process but an ongoing, meditative unfolding that looks different for each person. It’s not about finding one perfect solution, but about learning to live a life that feels aligned with your values and what’s most meaningful to you. As you gain a deeper understanding of your inner world, process old emotions, and shift patterns, life becomes a creative act—constantly evolving and offering new opportunities for growth and fulfillment. About Monica My path to becoming a therapist began with my own journey into emotional healing. I’ve come to understand how meaningful it can be to feel truly seen and supported while working through emotional wounds, questioning long-held beliefs, and searching for a deeper sense of ease. As I continue to explore the unconscious roots of my emotions and engage in mindfulness practices, I’ve noticed moments of relief from anxiety and a growing capacity to experience life with more presence and intention. I became a therapist to hold space for others in the way I’ve found most healing—through curiosity and compassion. Before becoming a therapist, I earned my B.A. in Economics, Philosophy, and Mathematics from Boston College and worked as a Business Technology Consultant at Deloitte Consulting. While I enjoyed my work, my passion for exploring what it means to live a meaningful life led me to pursue an M.A. and Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. I specialize in working with individuals and couples. I use a blend of therapeutic modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), tailoring the approach to best suit each person’s needs. Having grown up with diverse cultural perspectives, I’m able to connect with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
