MY TRAINING AND EXPERTISE I am a licensed psychologist who has been practicing in the Baltimore area since 2002, obtaining both my master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Early training included developing expertise in behavioral medicine and stress/trauma/PTSD, within the hospital and prison systems, and with veterans and first responders. I completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with a position in the Baltimore Regional Burn Center at Hopkins Bayview. • I provide psychotherapy to individuals coping with medical illness/injury, grief/loss, and trauma/PTSD. I also specialize in working with individuals with primary depression, anxiety and stress associated with life transitions related to work (high stress jobs/retirement) and family (pre-marital/marital, parenting, empty nesters) with a goal of helping clients live a life in alignment with their values and priorities. In addition to my private practice work, for 11 years I was employed in college mental health counseling (6 years as Director of Student Counseling) where I provided psychotherapy to emerging adults as they navigated their own identity development and academic/professional aspirations. While in this role, I continued to hone my expertise in trauma/PTSD, eating disorders/body image dissatisfaction, adult ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, anxiety/stress/depression, assessment and stabilization of suicide risk and/or threat of harm to others/community. • I maintain an interest and commitment to educating future professionals in the field. I have held adjunct faculty positions at various local colleges teaching undergraduates as well as those enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs. For the past 7 years, I provided clinical supervision and training to doctoral candidates. This role nurtures my intellectual curiosity, keeps my clinical skills fresh, and challenges me to maintain a connection to new developments in the field. MY VALUES AND LIVED EXPERIENCES I’m a married mother of teens who strives to maintain balance and personal wellness by nurturing my values. As a first generation Greek-American, I value philanthropy and service to my community. I love cooking and have a personal interest in the role of food as a naturopathic intervention for health and mental health, particularly as it relates to my personal experience as a 10-year breast cancer survivor.
