Morgan, originally from the New Jersey shore, is thrilled to call the beautiful beaches of Wilmington, NC her second home. Morgan specializes in working with adults, young adults and teens. In session, Morgan is easy-going and down-to-earth. She helps even the first-time therapy go-ers feel at ease! Morgan’s therapeutic treatment is rooted in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness and trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT). Morgan is passionate about helping individuals struggling with anxiety of all kinds, especially those with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Many people with OCD endure unwelcome, persistent thoughts and anxieties that seem unshakeable. They resort to various behaviors, both externally and internally, in an attempt to alleviate their distress. This constant loop is not only time-consuming but also deeply distressing and exhausting! These behaviors, known as “compulsions,” can manifest as rumination, seeking reassurance, attempting to solve the unsolvable, or fearing making the “wrong” choice. Morgan utilizes evidence-based tools, including those rooted in ERP and CBT, to empower you to break free from the cycle and guide you towards a path of peace. Morgan empowers you to break free from the cycle of OCD and guides you towards a path of peace. Morgan also loves working with individuals experiencing depression, sadness and worthlessness. Living with depression causes us to see the world through distorted lenses, painting our world, and ourselves, in an often critical and hopeless light. Not to mention, in the day and age of social media it’s also easy to get caught in the trap of comparing, criticizing and questioning our own decisions, timelines and “enough-ness” to strangers on the internet. Morgan utilizes evidence-based tools to help you challenge your inner critic, nurture a compassionate and accepting relationship with yourself, and learn to trust in your own unique abilities. Morgan believes that even in the face of depression, you can discover your inherent strengths and find the courage to show up for your life again. Morgan also specializes in working with survivors of sexual trauma. She’s committed to providing a safe space for healing and growth. By using techniques from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), she addresses trauma and guides individuals towards a life they desire. Morgan wants potential clients to understand they’re not alone, not at fault, and that healing is possible. Your journey to recovery starts with support, and Morgan is here to walk that path with you.
