Crisis is inevitable in our lifetime. It can come in the form of a loss of job, a death of a loved one, an out of control child or teenager, a divorce, a traumatic event, consistent patterns of worry or regret, the the effect of an addiction, or in life transitions. Sometimes within these crises you need the support of someone outside the situation. From an early age I have had a passion to help others experience hope and healing in their lives. For the past 30 years, I have worked in a variety of school, clinical, and home settings with adolescents, adults and families to navigate life's challenges through both counseling and education. As a parent of three children, 2 biological and 1 adopted, I have personally experienced struggle, seeking out resources to strengthen myself and my family. In therapy I encourage the awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behavior with the challenge to develop new ways of thinking, feeling and acting that will bring peace and satisfaction to your life. I integrate a variety of therapies including mindfulness, spirituality, cognitive-behavioral and existential-post modern approaches. I approach our sessions through active listening, clarification, and reflection without judgment and with honesty. Whatever the nature of the problem, I am here to help.
