Welcome to Second Mile PCS! I'm Dr. Natalya Ramsey and have been in practice for over 15 years. I grew up in northern New Mexico in the small town of Los Alamos. Growing up it had the highest number of PhDs per capita in the world. It was a unique and wonderful place to grow up. I decided I wanted to be a psychologist when my best friend in high school turned to drugs and alcohol when his parents got divorced. I knew there had to be a better way of dealing with life problems than that! I pursued my undergraduate degree first at the University of Puget Sound and finished at the University of New Mexico. After college I married and focused on raising my three children for ten years. When my marriage ended, I pursued my master's degree in psychology at New Mexico Highlands University, one of the best kept secrets in New Mexico for sure, where I discovered my passion for neuropsychology. I continued my education at Fielding Graduate University out of Santa Barbara, CA where I earned my Doctorate in Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology. As a single mother, I had to work several jobs while pursuing my education. I discovered that I have a passion for working with children with trauma, adolescents who are struggling to find their way, and adults who are working to develop healthier coping skills to manage the day to day challenges that life brings. I have had the opportunity to watch individuals grow; transitioning from surviving life to thriving in life. I am client centered using an eclectic approach to meet the needs of each of my patients. I love all creatures and it is not uncommon to find Caesar the cat purring in an individuals lap or Viva and Fennec curled up along side lending their support.
