Hi! I am glad you are here and thinking of caring for yourself (or a loved one) by addressing a highly stigmatized but crucial part of health – mental health. Among a myriad of emotions, mental illness brings with it a sense of confusion, and feelings of overwhelm, not belonging (in your family, your workplace, and/or in society) and inferiority. So naturally, the antidote to this struggle is to empower you with accurate information that helps you make sense of your mind, and work towards improving your self-worth and ability to navigate in this world. Over the years, I have trained with some of the best psychologists in world renowned hospitals and academic institutes. I am currently appointed as a staff psychologist at the Menninger Clinic and Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine, where I provide comprehensive psychological assessments and individual therapy. Additionally, I continue to learn and stay informed about current research by attending trainings and presenting at research conferences. I will strive to not only bring you that knowledge and skill but to do so with compassion and care. I tell my clients that my first goal in therapy is to make you feel safe and develop trust. I am passionate about working with survivors of trauma and those struggling with grief, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Managing the debilitating symptoms of these conditions is at the same time challenging and rewarding. Together, we will collaborate to develop a treatment plan that is specifically tailored for you. My hope for you is that eventually, you become your own therapist and are able to navigate life stressors competently by yourself. If you are willing to trust me, I would be honored to embark on this journey with you.
