I began my interest in mental health early on, while working as a private landscaper for elderly gardeners and noticed the positive impact nature had on people's mood. I went on to study horticulture therapy and incorporated nature into the work I did with clients as a substance abuse counselor. Later, I earned a Masters of Social Work from the University of Alaska, and was recently certified as a Nature-Informed Therapist from the Center for Nature-Informed Therapy, in Maryland. I have more than 20 years of combined experience working for community mental health, residential programs and primary schools. Currently, I work with clients age teen to elder, who are experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy with a foundation on client centered and trauma informed care.
