My experience working in private practice has emphasized the importance of showing up as my genuine self in session. I see myself as a therapist who understands the importance of developing a healthy therapeutic relationship. Fulfilling work is done in a space that promotes authenticity in expressing yourself through engaging conversations. I encourage clients to express their thoughts and feelings by providing active listening and unconditional positive regard. I begin treatment by working to see the world through my client’s eyes. As trust and understanding are built, I expand on my client-centered approach to integrate mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and interpersonal therapy. These theories explore unhealthy thought patterns, behaviors, and relationship dynamics. I have worked with teens and adults navigating life transitions, relationship issues, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and procrastination. In practice, I focus on what is important to clients to guide the process of self-actualization and achieving their full potential. I am an ally of the LGBTQ+ community and have experience providing services for diverse clients from various social and ethnic backgrounds. I understand the complexities societal structures can impose on living authentically and encourage clients to explore how their relation to the world impacts their lives.
