Hi there, my name is Nicole Johnson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in office-based, school-based, day treatment, inpatient, and crisis assessment settings providing treatment for mood disorders, substance use, assessment, and referrals to help people overcome challenges, develop coping strategies, and lead happier and healthier lives. I specialize in helping young adults (ages 18-35) master self-management and build their self-esteem so they can have healthy relationships and manage their emotions and behaviors to have a meaningful life. My approach to therapy is holistic - addressing mind, body, spirit, and environment. I meet people where they are in life with compassion and non-judgement. I believe we are all doing the best we can and having an understanding of where we are and how we got here matters. Throughout the therapeutic relationship, I help you to validate, educate, reduce or alleviate distressing moods and behaviors, improve self acceptance, and increase meaningful engagements. My role as a therapist is to assist you on your journey towards emotional and relational health and wellness. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and individualized meaning I utilize various evidence-based interventions to include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, DBT, trauma-informed, mindfulness, strengths-based, and person-centered therapies. You can expect to leave sessions with increased self acceptance, understanding of your experiences, and practical skills to use in your daily life.
