My name is Nyanyiwa Vimba. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, board-certified, and licensed in Arizona. I graduated with an MSN-PMHNP from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I am also an Advanced Clinical Practitioner Fellow in Behavioral Health. I believe in a collaborative approach to treatment; the patient is central to their treatment plan as we work together. I bring my knowledge and experience, helping and encouraging patients to challenge their thoughts, choose their path to healing, and leading healthier lives. Patients play a part in developing a treatment plan that is right for them based on their symptoms and needs. I also emphasize educating patients about their diagnoses and possible pharmacological treatments. I have more than 15 years of experience in healthcare. I provide medication management to teenagers and adults with: Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), Bipolar Disorder, Stress Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Panic Disorders, Sleep Disturbances, Suicide Prevention and Schizophrenia. I am empathetic, direct, and hardworking, with an easy-going communication style. I believe everyone should have easy access to care regardless of where they live or who they are. Patients should know that mental health illness is a disease, just like any medical ailment and that it is okay to seek help without feeling judged.
