Perla (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California and has been practicing for over a decade. Perla specializes in working with adults ages 18-64 years old experiencing depression, grief, and anxiety. She uses a culturally sensitive and trauma informed approach in her therapy. Perla uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Intepersonal Therapy. Perla has extensive experience in working with adults experiencing several psychosocial factors including issues from incarceration, substance abuse, poverty, racial, women's issues, family, and navigating the workforce. She has worked several years in community mental health and substance abuse facilities. Perla was born and raised in San Diego, CA to immigrant parents from Mexico. She is a US Army Veteran and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2006-07. She received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from National University. She is a proud mother of three and enjoys reading, music, traveling and spending time with her family.
