I am passionate about working with couples, children, teens, young adults, and adults, with a special interest in trauma, anxiety, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ mental health. As a therapist, I value being genuine and transparent with my clients. I believe in using a mixture of honesty, acceptance, humor, and compassion to meet my clients where they are. My approach is directive and supportive, especially when working with couples. In my work with couples, I enjoy helping couples learn to improve their communication with each other, resolve conflict, improve intimacy, and heal emotional wounds which can create distance in the relationship. I often incorporate the use of expressive arts and mindfulness into therapy sessions. I am trained in EMDR therapy. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is an alternative to talk therapy, which helps individuals to process and recover from stressful or traumatic life experiences, without having to talk about what happened in detail. Starting therapy is a big step and can feel overwhelming. No matter what your experience has been in the past, you do not have to remain stuck. I welcome you to come as you are! I look forward to supporting you on your journey towards hope, joy, and healing.
