Introduction

I currently accept Pacific Source, Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Spring Health EAP and Canopy EAP. Couples Counseling, Individual Counseling for when Relationships End, Eating Disorders, Trauma Counseling the Developmental Model of Couples Counseling, EMDR Certified Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders Intensives Offered for Couples and EMDR Sessions (2-4 hour sessions) Choosing the right therapist is important and subjective. The first part of developing any therapeutic relationship is to build trust and part of that is simply feeling a connection with someone and finding they understand you. My approach to clients has always been to see people as who they are inside, underneath whatever struggles they are enduring and whatever life circumstances they find themselves currently experiencing. Oftentimes our genuine selves become overshadowed by depression, anxiety, fear, confusion, the eating disorder voice, the power of addiction, and past traumatic events. Our minds are extremely resilient and set up powerful defense systems to protect ourselves that, while useful during the initial situation, can be blocking us from becoming our real selves and connecting to people in our present circumstances. Let’s work together to discover which defenses and behaviors are helpful and which are getting in the way of becoming your best self. I will teach you skills to maneuver life’s challenging circumstances and relationships and find more peace and joy in your life. I have been counseling couples using a Developmental Model developed by Ellyn Bader and Pete Peterson. This model proposes the developmental stages couples face as they continue in a relationship and I see couples looking for help when they encounter these life transitions. Oftentimes they need some coaching in order to traverse the difficulties of individuation and communication as relationships mature. It is so rewarding to help couples reconnect and learn skills to dialogue in more healthy ways. Those who have experienced infidelity also can overcome the pain and grief of this and continue in their relationship. I am happy to meet you wherever you are and witness you growth as individuals and as a couple. My work with eating disorders, trauma, and addictions has been difficult and at the same time amazing as I witness client change and growth using EMDR, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Emotion Focused Family Therapy. Sometimes you need someone to believe in you when you are not able to, and I can be that person walking with you through your difficulties and challenges and at the same time, believing in the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel which we can reach together. Looking forward to hearing from you. I offer in office sessions in Bend from 2pm until 8pm Monday through Thursday and 9-5pm on Fridays. Telehealth is always available as an option mornings, afternoons and evenings.
