Sometimes we face obstacles in our life that make us feel as though we just want to give up. Relationships, personal goals, happiness and life satisfaction can sometimes feel so far out of reach and impossible that it leads to feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and frustration. But there is hope! Hope for your personal goals, hope for your relationships and hope for a life of joy. I currently hold a license for Professional Counseling in Alaska and a license for Mental Health Counseling in the state of Florida. I am also a nationally certified counselor through the NBCC. My primary focus is working with individuals and couples ages 18 and up. My background includes working with trauma, PTSD, communication barriers, infidelity, reconciliation, divorce, addictions, grief, depression, anxiety and finding purpose in life. Also working with military service members, their families, and veterans, or similar careers that include time away from the home and reintegration. I believe that achieving personal goals, changing lifestyles and/or working through previous life events can all provide a future full of hope and joy! My approach to therapy is person-centered, non-judgmental, compassionate, caring, and solution focused. I approach solving the issues bringing you to therapy through various therapies that allow you to help make the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and existential therapy. Additionally, I have completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work. Most importantly, we focus on the areas you want to address within therapy. I have a strong Biblical background and, upon request of the individual, will integrate this background into our work together. If you could use some help in navigating through the obstacles in your life in order to find your place of joy, please contact me!
