Introduction

I focus on creating a therapeutic relationship that is cooperative, trusting and encouraging. I aim to create a safe, open environment for my clients to express their feelings and work through issues while feeling accepted and validated. I am an active therapist that offers suggestions, tools, action plans and homework based upon my client’s needs. I consider myself direct and straight forward but also steady and nurturing. I bring my authentic self to the therapeutic relationship which includes small doses of humor and sarcasm when appropriate : ) I am an EMDR Certified therapist, a founding board member for Postpartum Support International, IA chapter. I support the LGBT community by attending conferences, educating myself through current literature seeking consultation to continue growing my allyship. I also am passionate about treating perinatal issues, men's specific issues, sexual issues and obsessive compulsive disorders. My office is a safe and nurturing space to process and grow. I strive to support my clients in being able to name and tame their deepest thoughts, feelings, memories and current challenges. My goal for everyone who enters my space is for them to feel open, free of judgement and hopeful for the future.
