As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Rachel holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University, and a master's degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University. She is also a Registered Play Therapist, and is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a form of therapy that desensitizes clients to past trauma to promote healing. Rachel incorporates expressive arts activities and Sandtray therapy with clients to enhance the therapeutic process. Rachel works with clients of all ages, specializing in trauma, complex trauma, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, anxiety, depression, and childhood behavioral concerns. Embracing the perspective that clients are experts in their own lives, she practices person-centered therapy. This approach treats clients as equal partners in the healing process and facilitates each individual's finding solutions that best suit their specific needs. It is Rachel's belief that everyone, including children, has the ability to harness self-healing processes to help them heal any wound or overcome any obstacle. She strives to create a safe place for clients to work through their concerns, issues or trauma so they can learn to make choices that benefit them moving forward.
