Introduction

Hi, I am Rachel and I am looking forward to connecting! Humans have a wide range of emotions and it’s okay to need some support navigating them. People come to therapy for lots of different reasons and sometimes they don’t even know the reason until several sessions later. My goal is to meet clients where they are at and help them develop mindsets that allow them to evolve mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, or in their own way. I firmly believe our mental health matters and it has an affect on every aspect of our lives, both positively and negatively! I went to Appalachian State University and received my Bachelors in Psychology with a Concentration in Human Services and a Minor in Social work in 2016. Later I attended North Carolina State University and received my Masters in Social Work in 2019. My experience includes work with various agencies across North Carolina doing non-profit work, foster care/adoptions, in-home programs (Multisystemic Therapy- MST and Intensive In-Home) and school programs (Day Treatment), and outpatient therapy at schools, offices, and telehealth. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and specialize working with clients/families with trauma, stress, attachment issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, supporting the family unit (whether that is parenting skills or communication with couples), and other areas. I enjoy working with the entire life cycle: infants, children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults. I strive to provide a warm, welcoming space that people feel comfortable and safe knowing that I prioritize their confidentiality and am inclusive with the different populations I work with. I am client centered and strength-based and I use a variety of different evidence-based treatment models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Circle of Security, Multisystemic Therapy (MST), Motivational Interviewing, and several others. I also love bringing in other elements such as art, mindfulness, movement, aromatherapy, and journaling into my sessions because feelings can be expressed in a multitude of ways. When I am not working and doing what I am passionate about, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, getting outside with my husband and walking our dog (a beagle named Cedric), reading, being creative (crafts, painting, house projects, gardening, etc.), cooking/baking and trying new food, traveling and exploring different places/cultures, and always finding ways to better myself. I am a continuous work in progress and that’s okay! Take a chance by working with me at Evolving Mindsets, PLLC.
