Introduction

Therapy is a place where you can feel safe to share even the most uncomfortable feelings and feel accepted for who you are. It can be difficult at times and others the most enjoyable part of your week. I would like to reassure you that I am here to support you through this process. I encourage you to be authentic, experience any emotion or thoughts freely, without needing to apologize and voicing your feelings with confidence. My journey began on active duty in the Navy, where I served for 12 year as a Navy Corpsman. My roles on active duty was to provide medical and mental health services to fellow service men and woman. I have a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I have over 20 years of experience in treating depression, anxiety, self-doubt, difficult relationships, negative thinking, feeling stuck or inadequate. Learn to build the mental resilience necessary to overcome challenges and setbacks. I have experience in both group and individual counseling and have worked with a wide variety of age ranges and population groups to include college institutions, military institutions, and the criminal justice system. Therapy can be difficult at times and others the most enjoyable part of your week. Don't feel "one size fits all" will work for you? You're probably right. I use a variety of modalities necessary in therapy to maintain a judgement-free space of positivity, growth, and healing. The modalities that I have found most effective are Mindfulness-based therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused therapy (SFT), Acceptance-Commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Getting started is always the scariest part, talking to someone you do not know about things that may make you feel uncomfortable, however I would like to reassure you that I am here to support you through this process.
