Introduction

Welcome! I'm glad you are thinking about taking the risk to reach out for help. Let me start by telling you a bit about me. I am a licensed psychologist (OR #2201). I obtained my MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University. I graduated with my PhD from the APA accredited University of Oregon Counseling Psychology program in 2003. I prefer to engage in person, but recognize the benefits telehealth therapy options provide. I deeply enjoy the art and science of helping others reach their goals and improve their general life satisfaction. My therapeutic approach begins with an appreciation for each person's unique life circumstances and important relationships. This includes attention to strengths, identities, systemic considerations, as well as areas of difficulty. I believe a positive healing therapeutic relationship is a core element for making change. I strive to do this by taking a collaborative, safe, and trauma-informed approach. I seek to understand a client's world through a multifaceted lens and integrate a variety of interventions and techniques to serve a client's goals. Although I tend to be somewhat directive, I view each client as the expert in her/his/their life. I work to adapt my strength-focused style to best meet the needs and goals of each client. My professional work history includes conducting individual, group, and family psychotherapy as well as mental health assessments. In the past, I have provided both comprehensive and more targeted psychological assessments. I have provided supervision and guidance for student clinicians, pre-licensed associates, and facilitated trainings and consultations with licensed providers. I have extensive experience in a variety of community mental health settings, non-profit agencies, and group practices serving people of all ages (from parents with newborns, toddlers, to the very elderly). Most recently, my therapeutic work has focused on helping individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and various life adjustments (e.g., recent moves, adulting, relationship changes, parenting, blended families, work changes, world events). I take insurance, private pay, and will provide a superbill for those who want to use out-of-network insurance. I comply with the No Surpises Act. https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises If you think I might be a good fit in helping you address your goals, please contact me to set up a brief phone consultation.
