Introduction

Hello. My name is Rebecca and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in NY and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated from Hofstra University in 2018 with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling, Graduate with Distinction. My internship was completed at a clinic for substance use and mental health services. Following graduate school, I have worked as an individual therapist and group therapist. I have supported Individual clients and facilitated groups dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression, substance use, life changes, anger issues, frequent mood shifts, problems at work/school, low self-esteem, and friend/family issues, among others. In sessions, I implement an Integrative Approach including- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based, Compassion-focused, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and most importantly- Humor. I emphasize the importance of acknowledging your daily victories and giving yourself that much-deserved, "pat on the back." With over 6 years in the mental health field, my mission is to help you improve your quality of life by having more self-compassion, being less judgmental towards yourself, and learning to celebrate your victories. Let's work together so you have the tools and the confidence to get through whatever is thrown your way. It would be an honor to support you.
