I am a patient, compassionate, non-judgmental helping professional who understands struggle and uncertainty. I believe that people are generally doing their best, and that growth and change can be difficult, uncomfortable, and scary. I think that having someone help you navigate through times of uncertainty, sit with you in your struggles, and challenge your beliefs and behaviors can be instrumental in understanding how and why your behavior patterns are contributing to your distress and preventing you from moving forward. I approach counseling from an interpersonal attachment-based perspective, in that I believe relational issues are the driving force behind our emotions, motivations, and behaviors. I specialize in working with clients who struggle with codependent behaviors and attachment or relational trauma. I also have experience counseling clients with mood disorders and substance use issues, especially members of the hospitality industry. I find inspiration personally and professionally in the works of Brené Brown, Gabor Maté, and Thich Nhat Han. I counsel individuals, groups, and couples. I respect everyone's individuality and do not discriminate against anyone. I see clients of all ages, races, and gender and sexual preferences, with the exception that I do not work with individuals under 18 years of age. Evening appointments are available.
