Hello! I am a counselor offering Telehealth Mental Health Services to Clients in Idaho, and in-person educational classes in person to the community of Kodiak, Alaska. If you are located in Idaho and want to have telehealth sessions, please reach out! If you are located in Kodiak and are interested in classes, please reach out! I honor the energy, resources, and courage it takes to come to counseling, so thank you for your time and welcome to my website. People tend to come to therapy because they want to change but haven't figured out how yet. I am here as a supportive guide for my clients as they work on changing themselves for the better. Couple's counseling is one of my passions. That said, I am taking a break from meeting with couples until I am ready to meet in person with counseling clients again. If you are interested on having online individual sessions that focus on your relationship, send me a message and we might be a good fit to work together. I do my best work with couples and individuals who are relatively stable and ready for high-level skills. If you face high conflict/emotional abuse/domestic violence, please seek out a professional who specializes in those areas first. Topics I regularly help individuals address one on one are grief, anxiety, significant life changes, goal achievement, boundaries, communication, self-improvement, and stress management. If you are ready to upgrade yourself, you are at the right place. I look forward to hearing from you soon and discussing if we can be a good therapeutic fit. As a note for clients searching for a counselor with a specific religious background; I sit with clients from a variety of cultures and faiths, and while I do not use a faith-based approach to counseling, my chosen faith provides extra cultural and religious insight to LDS clients. Much of my work is influenced by Family Systems Theory, Internal Family Systems Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Theory. I have focused my training during the last two years on the Internal Family Systems Approach, and have found it very helpful to my clients! I particularly focus on concepts of differentiation (building a strong inner self that is not dependent on others as a main source of validation), self kindness and mindfulness (being aware of yourself in a curious and kind way). I aim to provide a space of empathy, support, and safety to help you face the discomfort of change and growth. I want to help each client interact with their inner self honestly and compassionately, with the ultimate goal being to foster the creation of more joy in their life. Please call or text to schedule our first meeting or get more information, I look forward to hearing from you.
