Rick Jackson earned a BS in Criminal Justice (Sacred Heart University) and a Master of Social Work (Louisiana State University). He holds the following credentials: License Clinical Social Worker-Board Approved Clinical Supervisor (LCSW-BACS), Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), and Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor (CCGC). He has 15 years of experience with co-occurring treatment and care, which he gained working at an in-patient treatment center, The Veterans Administration, Red Stick Mental Health, HearMe.app, and Baton Rouge Thérapie. He also trained at the Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center. He has experience in both the private and nonprofit realm of mental health. Rick’s experience includes but not limited to: mental health, addictions, long term recovery, crisis intervention, family of origin, family issues, and everyday coping. Rick also works as an Adjunct Professor with LSU School of Social Work. He is called on to speak and train for schools, universities, and has been the Keynote Speaker for the Louisiana’s Safe & Drug Free Summit hosted by the Governor’s Office and developed training for statewide crisis and support lines.
