Bob has more than 30 years’ experience working in clinical social work. His specialties include relationship counseling (couples and families), trauma counseling, substance use/addiction and recovery treatment, and EMDR. He received a Master of Social Work from Boston College in 1989 and worked in a mental health and substance abuse outpatient clinic for several years. In 1997, he completed a three year post-graduate training program in couples and family therapy at the Kantor Family Institute, during which time he joined a group practice with twelve other highly regarded clinicians which became Access for Change. He has provided clinical supervision, consultation, and training to mental health and substance abuse clinics and graduate programs in the Boston area. He is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts and a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor, LADC1. In 2018, he was voted Counselor of the Year by the Massachusetts Association of Alcoholism and Drug Counselors and the National Association for Addiction Professionals.
