I earned a Masters degree in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University, conferred in 2002. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (#S4416) & a National Certified Counselor (#76073). I have advanced training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders from Postpartum Support International, and I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional. I have been providing counseling services since 2002, and have been in private practice since 2004. I am conveniently located in Cary, NC. I provide assessment and counseling to mostly adults. I primarily work with those who are struggling with life changes such as adjustment to a developmental stage or a life transition. I also work with those who are struggling with more chronic issues, such as depression and anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss. My particular interest is in supporting new moms struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, those who have experienced pregnancy loss, those experiencing infertility, women struggling with poor self esteem, poor body image, and/or disordered eating. I also enjoy working with athletic clients, or those desiring to incorporate wellness and fitness into their overall self-care plan. My practice is culturally responsive and deeply respectful of diversity. In my personal life, among the many hats I wear are mom, daughter, friend, and athlete. I have 4 amazing children. My own personal self care plan includes ongoing self awareness, giving myself permission to be enough just as I am, exercise and running, and spending quality time with my friends and family. I am a helper and a nurturer and I look forward to our potential work together.
