I believe in change, and I believe we can actively and intentionally direct that change for our own growth and fulfillment with life. For over twenty years, I have worked with college students on their personal growth and development, and I have been a practicing psychotherapist since 2018 with both young adults and adults. I focus on anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship issues. I began with traditional trainings in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and quickly came to realize that understanding a person and best supporting them means considering how their childhood and life has shaped their patterns for survival and for getting their needs met, and informed who they are today. I utilize training and education on Attachment and through the Enneagram to make meaning of the past as it shows up today for clients. Additionally, I believe trauma needs to be addressed from a bottom-up approach, going beyond talk therapy in a way that does not re-traumatize the person and that can be both gentle and at a pace determined by the client using Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Skills training. Unprocessed trauma and unresolved chronic high stress stay in the body and can lead to syndromal issues (e.g. migraines, IBS, chronic or regional pain). Working with the felt sense in the body can and will lead to greater regulation and the potential to resolve the emotional, psychological, and physical effects of trauma and stress. I am very relationally-oriented. My goal is to connect, to support, to facilitate growth and change, and to empower clients to continue this work on their own.
