I like thinking about therapy as an expedition. Pretend you decide to row across the Atlantic, for instance. What a brave goal! Something draws you to it, despite your fear. You know you will encounter both the dark, turbulent nights as well as the calm, colorful days. To do this safely, you decide you could use a companion, a fellow-traveler. More than anything, you want poised connection with self, nature and other; a growing of your edges, and certainly the healing that follows naturally in its wake. My aim is to help you uncover "the wild, silky part of yourself," to quote poet Mary Oliver, a careful courting of your brilliant intuition and unresolved wounds. I am glad to go into the dark with you, as well as the light; this is a process of integrating all parts of you, and I hope to inspire care and curiosity during this important time in your life. If this resonates, let's chat and determine if I might be the right fit for you. I work with adults and teens who are 17+ in my office and via telehealth. If a less traditional approach is of interest to you, I take clients into local nature preserves where we might invite nature as a third participant in the therapy-process.
