I have worked with individuals struggling with mental illness, including severe and persistent mental illness, and mental illness combined with substance use. My approach is person-centered and holistic, designed to empower each person to achieve their goals. While in graduate school at Argosy University, I worked for Mayo Clinic in the epilepsy monitoring unit. This experience provided opportunities to learn about the mind-body connection and new ways to apply my training to work with patients and their families on mental and physical health. I completed a therapy internship with adult men with cognitive impairment, mental illness, and harmful sexual behavior, developing a person-centered approach in my work.
