Rossana L. Magalhaes, M.S., Ed.S., LCMHC is a Board Certified Counselor and a Certified MBSR Teacher. Rossana works together with clients with the intention to unwrap client’s potential for accepting and changing life situations and underlying assumptions. Rossana studied with the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, Rhode Island . Rossana became a Qualified MBSR Teacher in 2014 and, with persistence and determination Rossana continued studying and attending numerous mindfulness-based retreats. After extensive supervision, she received the title of Certified MBSR Teacher. Rossana was a meditation teacher at the Brain Mechanisms of Pain and Health Laboratory at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Together with MIndfulness-Based interventions, she uses DBT (Dialectical behavior Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and Client Centered approach to work with client’s needs from grief to relationships, including mental health struggles such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, phase of life and professional issues. Rossana earned a honors’ Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling and Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, UNCG. Rossana is originally from Brazil.
