Hello there! I'm Russell. Thanks for reading about me and I'd love to hear from you and help how I can! A little about me, I started my work in the mental health field in 1999 and have worked as a volunteer all the way up to a Licensed Professional Counselor and seems like every role in between. I have a Bachelor's degree in Family and Child Development and a Master's in Professional Counseling which have helped me fulfill my dream of being in private practice. I have loved every part of my journey and feel that I have become a well rounded and specialized therapist. Most of my experience has been related to trauma work which led me to get trained in EDMR which has been a wonderful too to help treat trauma. I have had some amazing experiences in my career working as a clinician in community rape crisis centers, community clinics, hospice centers, law enforcement, state agencies and finally my own private practice group. All these experiences helped me find my passion and hone my skill in trauma, grief and loss, and gender and sexuality issues. My specialties include trauma/PTSD work, working through gender identity and sexuality issues and the many types of grief and loss. I work a great deal with the transgender and LGBTQ+ community and I also work a great deal with first responders, Military, and their families. Our Practice has a male survivors of sexual abuse/assault group, we offer a gender exploration group, and a grief group at times as well a group for those considering or have had bariatric surgery. Our work together does not have to be limited to the topics above as I have experience in many other topics such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, and general counseling issues around finding one's self and defining or redefining self. Give me a call or send an email and let's talk about what you need and want and how we might be able to help! If I do not personally have availability in my schedule, I am happy to get you connected to one of the counselors in our Practice who can get you in sooner!
