Navigating life’s demands can present with its challenges, particularly when considering the push to fit other’s expectations and pull to live as one’s wholehearted self. This dialectic can often result in conflict in relationships, struggles in identity, and feelings of stress, anxiety, and sadness. It may be borne from traumatic or invalidating experiences, difficulty managing life transitions, or ineffective ways of coping. Throughout my service in various clinical settings, I have been struck by the importance of creating a safe space for those seeking mental health care and working towards personal growth. Given this, I strive to provide a warm and empathic environment – one that combines a client-centered, strengths-based approach with treatment validated by research to compassionately guide clients towards therapeutic healing. I work through an empowerment-based, trauma-focused, and relational framework, and consider how intersecting identities may contribute to the client’s own unique life experiences. I find that collaboration (and a dash of humor!) is key in a successful therapeutic relationship, and encourage my clients to bring their own voice into the therapy room. I have worked in a number of settings, including victim services centers, university mental health clinics, forensic evaluation centers, children’s partial residential programs, and in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. These experiences have afforded me the privilege of engaging with clients from diverse cultural, generational, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as gender identities and sexual orientations. While I treat a wide range of mental health concerns, I specialize in working with those who: are navigating life transitions, including relationship and dating challenges, cultural shifts, grief and loss, medical difficulties, or relocation; are striving to find effective ways of managing difficult emotions and communicating with others; have faced interpersonal traumas or identity based invalidations; or are struggling to engage in meaningful ways with others. Should the above resonate with you, please contact me to schedule a 15-minute complimentary phone consultation. I am currently accepting new clients and offering teletherapy services. I look forward to hearing from you!
