Introduction

My love for therapy is driven by the opportunity to empower women to become the best versions of themselves despite whatever is going on in life. I believe that my clients are the experts in their own life and that therapy is a collaborative process of listening, understanding and working together to create change. I approach our work together by looking at the whole person, both mind and body, to determine and utilize the most appropriate evidence-based treatment. My leading goal as your therapist is to provide you with a safe and supportive space to explore and navigate the complexities of life and just simply being human. I offer a compassionate and non-judgemental presence, and provide unique insights to help you better identify, understand and resolve unhelpful thinking patterns. One of the most important things is finding a therapist who is a good fit. I am more than happy to spend a few minutes discussing your needs prior to scheduling a session. Feel free to contact me for a phone consultation or to schedule an appointment. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC in 2009, and later achieved my Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Certification in Animal-Assisted Social Work (AASW) from the University of Denver in Colorado. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Independent Social Worker of Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) in the states of North & South Carolina. I have advanced training through Postpartum Support International, Inc. in treating prenatal/postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I am a contributing author & editor to "Transforming Trauma: Resilience & Healing Through Our Connections With Animals", published in 2019 by Purdue Publishing, and I currently serve on the Board for the South Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work. I have extensive experience in mental health treatment in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, community-based mental health centers and private practice. I am a native of Columbia, SC, and married with two young children. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and my beloved 14-year-old Australian Shepherd, Stella (often making an appearance in our therapy sessions). I offer the option for clients to meet in-person or virtually. I am Private Pay Only. Upon request, a “superbill” can be provided so that you can submit your receipts to your insurance for possible out of network benefits. Please be aware that a part of what insurance requires is a mental health diagnosis.
