I understand that seeking help for your mental health can be a difficult and overwhelming decision, and I am here to support you every step of the way. I work primarily with adults who need support in managing the demands of daily living, work/life balance, personal development, and life transitions including relationship stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment to facilitate personal growth and healing. I recognize that systemic racism and other forms of oppression can have disproportional impacts on the mental health of Black clients, and I am committed to providing culturally responsive care that takes these experiences into account. I trust that people are the experts of their own lives and have ideas around what is best for them. My role is to help clients reconnect with the self, develop trust of self, and explore how they can use their values to guide their steps. I incorporate a client-centered and strength-based approach, while collaboratively tailoring my therapy styles to what best suits each client. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and motivational interviewing to enhance the level of motivation for personal growth. Given appropriate tools, the right setting, and therapeutic fit, behavioral changes are possible.
