I am a first-generation Pakistani American, born and raised in Texas. Before becoming a therapist, I pursued a path towards becoming an actuary. When I began settling into the corporate world, I realized I was less interested in the work I was doing and more interested in people's stories. How did they end up here? What experiences shaped who they are today? How do they cope with stress? What do they need to thrive? Who do they turn to in times of stress? Who do they share their joy with? Five years into my career, I decided to take a leap of faith and enroll in graduate school for counseling. I am especially passionate about couples/relationship therapy, breaking harmful intergenerational patterns, healing from past trauma, and providing culturally competent care to marginalized communities. Unlike traditional models of the therapist-client relationship, I operate from a fully transparent and authentic stance. Regardless of my qualifications, the relationship between therapist and client consists of a human to human relationship that has the potential to blossom into a powerful tool for healing. I look forward to sharing this space with you.
