Introduction

A lot of us find ourselves in a place of despair, over and over again repeating the same patterns and types of relationships that do not serve us well. Even more, we don't even know how it happened or that we are doing it til it's too late. Together we can explore your patterns, struggles, and strengths in order to lead you to a new path of self-determined fulfillment. We will gently but assuredly do deep work together, not put a band-aid coping skill over your issues. Some people want to understand how their early childhood or past experiences might be affecting these patterns today, some people do not. That is perfectly ok and not necessary, but it is an option. We will, however, explore various parts or points of view that you're not always so conscious of and bring them to awareness so that we can understand them better. Those of you who want to experience "inner child" therapy or "shadow work", and learn "boundaries" skills, you have come to the right place. People looking specifically for help with people pleasing, codependency, loss of self, attachment issues and developmental trauma will find a home with the type of care I offer as well. If you're a spiritual person, I have a special interest in helping people balance their spiritual and psychological life. You can bring any kind of spiritual belief into our work together without fear I will dismiss or judge you for it. If this sounds like the right approach for you, please reach out to inquire about having a free 20-minute phone consultation. If we decide we could be a good therapeutic match, we can set our first appointment. I do not take insurance at this time. Please do not let this deter you. - Firstly, I can provide paperwork for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement for payment of services. - Secondly, many people find their insurance doesn't cover services, either because of a high deductible or because the care needed does not meet the requirements of a formal mental health diagnosis required for insurance coverage. - Thirdly, I also offer a sliding scale lower fee for those in need. I offer both in person therapy at my office in the Old Port of Portland, Maine, and online teletherapy. Please contact me through the "contact" icon at the top or bottom of the page ~ I have a Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University or Southern Maine ~ Maine State LCPC-C license # XL6039 ~
