I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 18 years of experience working in veterinary medicine, where I provided compassionate support to individuals navigating the unique challenges of the profession. After the devastating loss of a colleague to suicide in 2010 and witnessing the profound impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, I broadened my focus to address mental health needs more holistically. My passion lies in creating spaces for healing, resilience, and the prevention of suicidal ideation through accessible and empathetic mental health care. In my practice, I provide psychotherapy with a focus on grief support, trauma recovery, addressing adverse childhood experiences, improving family dynamics, and fostering resilience. Guided by the age-old adage in medicine that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” I work collaboratively with clients to help them process their experiences, identify their strengths, and build tools for navigating life’s complexities before challenges become crises. I am also deeply committed to supporting LGBTQ individuals, creating an affirming space where clients can explore their identities, overcome obstacles, and thrive. My inclusive approach ensures that everyone feels seen, valued, and supported throughout their mental health journey. While my roots in veterinary medicine inform my perspective and understanding of professional stressors, my approach is designed to support individuals from all backgrounds. I believe therapeutic care provides clients with the tools, empathy, and support needed to engage in meaningful inner work. Together, we build a foundation of collaboration and trust to help navigate the path toward healing and growth. I believe mental health is a cornerstone of a fulfilling life. Through my work, I aim to reduce stigma, provide compassionate support, and inspire meaningful change in how we approach mental health challenges.
