Introduction

I have over 20 years of experience as a clinical social worker, and I've been in private practice since 2014. I see adults of all ages, stages and backgrounds, and I am especially passionate about women's mental health, grief and loss, chronic illness, and periods of life transition (for example, young adulthood, parenthood, relocation, career changes, empty nest, caregiving of family members, and retirement), and the associated challenges and shifts of identity that may come with these transitions. I have advanced training and experience in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (e.g. post-partum depression and anxiety), grief and loss, trauma, attachment, and early childhood mental health. Here are my certifications: Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (Evergreen Certifications) Perinatal Mental Health specialist (PMH-C) (Postpartum Support International) Grief Counseling Specialist (Evergreen Certifications) Interpersonal Psychotherapy Level A (IPT Institute) I use a variety of counseling methods to meet the individual needs of my clients. My approach to counseling is collaborative and strengths-based. I strive to help clients find greater self-definition; achieve insight about the patterns that cause them to stay stuck, overwhelmed & lost; develop knowledge, skills and strength to address current challenges; create more positive interpersonal relationships; and find a more meaningful and fulfilling path in life. My goal is to listen carefully and to build a safe, trusting professional relationship with you to help you make lasting positive changes in your life. Client confidentiality is of the utmost importance to me, and my counseling services are provided in an accepting, supportive, and relaxed environment. I value diversity and I welcome clients from all different backgrounds, with attunement to social justice issues. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and being in nature with my family, traveling, and volunteering at the hospital with my certified therapy dog. Call or send me a message (click on Contact at the top of the page) to set up a free, brief initial consultation, by phone or in person, to see if I'm the right fit for you.
