After working three years, in the South Bronx, as a caseworker screening and connecting adults and families with vital community resources, I decided to pursue my Master’s Degree in Social Work at Columbia University. My primary goal was to build a toolset of mental health interventions and strengthen my advocacy skills. At Columbia, my two field placements provided me with further opportunities to engage and support children and families. After completing my MSW and becoming licensed in New York, I began working within New York City School systems as a non-profit partner, directly for the New York City Department of Education, and now for a Dual Language Charter School. My eight years of experience working in schools has allowed me to provide clinical interventions to children, adults, and families for various issues, mainly depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic violence, grief and loss, and adjusting to change. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, adults, and families ready to take steps towards healing and change.
