Through the therapy process, families and individuals can develop skills they need to heal themselves, to grow, and to thrive. My work is evidence-based. It is grounded in behavioral change and traditional talk therapy that effectively reduces trauma symptoms, stress, anxiety, depression, childhood behavioral disorders, and grief. To help parents and caregivers struggling to find balance between nurturing and limit setting, we can work together as a team to find effective strategies to improve communication and trust between you and your child. In the presence of Childhood attachment injuries and other childhood behaviors, I am trained in both the Iowa Parent and Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), and directive and nondirective play therapy techniques. To treat complex trauma and PTSD, I use a wide array of modalities including narrative therapy techniques, trauma narratives, EMDR techniques, sandtray, and mindfulness. I believe healing works best with a personal and/or family centered approach that uses the brain’s natural ability to rewire disturbed thoughts, neutralize memories, rebuild self-esteem and greater impulse control. By highlighting and enhancing strengths and resiliency, you and your family can create a happier and more connected lives.
