Sarah Shelton is a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized training and experience working with adults of diverse backgrounds presenting with anxiety, grief, and post-traumatic stress. At Home Body Counseling, we may use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Brainspotting, or Somatic Experiencing to explore stress responses, decrease emotional overwhelm, and create ease in your body. These therapeutic methods go beyond talk therapy and allow for deeper processing. The use of mindfulness, somatic tracking, expressive arts, trauma-informed yoga, and breath work are also highly encouraged in creating regulation in your nervous system and reconnecting to your body's innate ability to soothe and heal itself. Coming home to you may also involve creating healthy boundaries, affirming your value, learning your interests and desires, engaging in self-care, sharing your thoughts and feelings, and loving on your inner child- your guides back home.
