Sarah Zalkin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing in the social work field with adults, adolescents, children, and families since 2013. Sarah utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Strategic Therapy, and Strengths Based approaches in working with her clients to achieve their desired outcome. Sarah has experience working in areas of grief and loss, parenting challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, perinatal mood disorders, school issues, family transitions, substance abuse, intimate partner violence, and adjustment to medical concerns. Sarah has experience practicing in a wide variety of settings such as in-home family therapy, preventive services, hospitals, and outpatient case management. Previously, Sarah worked doing psychosocial assessments and case management for older adults, as well as provided Brief Strategic Family Therapy for adolescents and their families. Most recently, Sarah worked in Maternal Child Health doing hospital-based work, providing assessments, supportive counseling, and connection to resources for patients and their families. Sarah’s warmth and compassionate approach is key in creating a safe space to work through difficult circumstances on the path to healing. She understands that every individual has their own story which they bring to the table and believes there is no one size fits all approach. In therapy, Sarah will help to identify thought patterns and behaviors that are keeping you stuck. She will work together with you to identify your strengths and utilize them to make lasting change. Sarah has a passion for engaging with children and adolescents creatively to help them process challenges and achieve their goals.
