Scot is a Licensed Professional Counselor and board-certified National Certified Counselor who works with individuals grappling with trauma, grief and loss, substance use, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. He develops individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches and interventions according to the client’s stated concerns, intentions, and goals. Scot believes that his role as a therapist is to hold space and help clients access the profound wisdom that we each possess. He utilizes a person-centered approach of unconditional positive regard, empathetic listening, reflecting, and planning. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he has experience working with diverse populations and those with special needs. Scot holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Scot is pursuing certification in Somatic Experiencing (SEP) and Sex Therapy (AASECT).
