Dr. Scott Deatherage is a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of adjustment, personality disorders, and sexual trauma. Before earning his doctorate, he earned a master’s degree in school counseling and was a licensed school counselor (k-12) in the state of Indiana. As a doctoral student at Purdue University he was selected for the United States Air Force Health Professions Scholarship and completed his predoctoral internship with the Department of Veterans Affairs before serving as an active duty Air Force Psychologist. He has received extensive training in primary care behavioral health, the assessment and management of severe and persistent mental illness, psychological assessment, and he has experience developing and operating primary care, substance abuse, and outpatient mental health programs. Dr. Deatherage aims to balance a humanistic and interpersonal approach with cognitive, behavioral, and solution-focused strategies. In doing so, clients embrace the notion to accept and change themselves in a safe and trusting environment.
